Welcome to the Rose and Crown Inn website.  Owners Charles and Barbara look forward to welcoming you personally to this historic old inn.

Originally built as a coaching inn during the 16^th Century, the Rose and Crown has been offering hospitality to both travellers and locals for over 400 years – a tradition that we are proud to continue.  We are located in the centre of Nether Stowey, which lies on the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead, at the foot of the beautiful Quantock Hills in Somerset, some five miles south of the Bristol Channel.  The village is a popular base for walking and biking holidays, and for tourists exploring nearby attractions such as Exmoor and Cheddar Gorge.  We are also situated at the start of the Coleridge Way long distance path, with Coleridge Cottage (the home of Samuel Taylor Coleridge) just up the road.

The Rose and Crown is a family run pub, and is very much the social centre of the village, where locals, visitors and families can enjoy a quiet drink or meal, in good company.  We have a longstanding reputation for the quality of our real ales, which has been acknowledged by our ‘Cask Marque’ award.

For all you sports fans, our games room has a big TV with Sky Sports HD and ESPN HD.  Check 'What's on?' for details of fothcoming events. 

We offer en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation, including our family suite comprising a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and bathroom.  If necessary, we can add a third bed in the twin room, making this suitable for families of five.  Our bed and breakfast rates start from just £30.00 per person per night.  Please note that dogs are NOT allowed in the bed and breakfast accommodation or in our restaurant. 

Why not call in for a pint of real ale or a glass of quality wine, some good food and lively conversation?  Families are always particularly welcome, with well behaved children and dogs also welcome in the bar and garden (which means you can bring the dog when you have lunch or dinner).  Don't forget to ask the bar staff for some dog biscuits!
